UPS Lakshmi, Rohtak, has entered into a landmark Technology Transfer (ToT) agreement with the Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIO), Chandigarh, for the development and production of Transforaminal Lumbar Interbody Fusion (TLIF) and Posterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion (PLIF) spinal implants using advanced additive manufacturing (3D printing) technology.
This collaboration represents a major milestone in strengthening Indiaβs self-reliance in high-end medical device manufacturing. Developed in partnership with CSIO, these implants will utilize precision titanium 3D printing to deliver superior biomechanical compatibility, enhanced patient-specific customization, and faster post-surgical recovery.
Mr. Rahul Jain, Director of UPS Lakshmi, stated:
“This ToT signing with CSIO is a matter of great pride for us and for Haryana. Establishing this advanced manufacturing capability in Rohtak will not only provide world-class spinal care solutions within India but will also directly generate skilled employment in the state, foster medical innovation, and reduce dependence on imported implants.”
For the people of Haryana, this venture will mean faster access to advanced spinal care, lower surgical costs, and increased availability of specialized treatment locally. It will also position Haryana as a hub for cutting-edge medical technology in India.
